Homologación for Spain.

Homologación is Spain's formal recognition process for a foreign academic qualification when equivalence to a specific Spanish degree is required. The competent Spanish authority evaluates the academic substance; our role is to prepare the U.S. documents that support that application.

A correct file normally depends on a valid authentication chain, complete academic records, and sworn Spanish translations. Those preparation steps should be completed before the applicant files with Spain.

Official diplomas and transcripts must come from the issuing institution and show the information Spain needs to evaluate the qualification. Student portal printouts, incomplete records, and copy certifications are common reasons a file is returned.

During our review phase, we examine the registrar attestation, signature, notarial certificate, grading scale, reverse sides, and every relevant page. We tell you whether the authentication chain is apostille-ready or likely to be rejected before state filing begins.

Spain is a Hague Convention country, so eligible U.S. academic documents are legalized with an apostille. The apostille must come from the state with authority over the public official or notary in the document chain.

We confirm that jurisdiction and coordinate filing in all 50 states. Expedited service is available in most states when the issuing authority offers it, including hand-couriered Pennsylvania filings when applicable.

Our Spanish translations are completed in Spain by Traductores-Intérpretes Jurados appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The translator's authorization is verifiable, and each completed set includes the required sworn credentials and certification formula.

Each translation is delivered with a credential cover sheet and a verifiable link or QR code where available. The academic records and relevant apostille material are translated as one submission-ready set; a standard U.S. certified or notarized translation is not a substitute.

After we return the prepared package, the applicant or their representative submits it through Spain's designated online or in-person channel and pays the applicable government fee.

Spain controls review requests, subsanación deadlines, and the final recognition decision. Those stages are separate from our U.S. document-preparation service.

Preparation cost depends on the number of apostilles, issuing states, translation pages, notarization needs, and delivery destination. The order form provides a tailored quote before work begins.

Our document pipeline is commonly completed in 5–10 business days, with expedited options where available. Spain's review can take several months or longer and cannot be accelerated by our firm.
