Accreditation decides the authentication route. Middle States Association is an American accreditor, so its member schools' records are authenticated as American documents.
Many Middle States Association accredited international schools follow an American curriculum, offer an American degree or diploma, or award the American diploma directly. Their graduation records are American academic documents.
Because the diploma or transcript is an American document, it must clear the American authentication chain — notarization of the school official’s signature, then a U.S. apostille — before a university, ministry, or consulate abroad will accept it.
