In Spain a translation only carries legal weight when it is produced by a Traductor-Intérprete Jurado appointed by the MAEC. A U.S. "certified" translation — even notarized — has no legal status there and is rejected at file review for homologación, visas, nationality, and registry filings.
The Ministerio de Universidades requires sworn-translated diplomas, transcripts, and syllabi to recognize an American degree.
Non-lucrative, student, work, digital nomad, and Golden Visa files need sworn-translated FBI checks, vital records, and financials.
Nacionalidad por residencia, matrimonio, or origen sefardí filed at the Registro Civil or through the Ministry of Justice.
