Trying to notarize at the US embassy abroad
US embassy notary appointments now book 3–6 months out in most cities. Remote Online Notarization from the US is faster, legally equivalent, and accepted in all 50 states.
Ordering an old vital record and apostilling it
Most countries require the underlying vital record to be issued within the last 3–6 months. We order fresh certified copies before apostilling.
Using a non-sworn translator
Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal only accept translations from sworn translators recognized in-country. ATA-certified translations from the US are not enough.
